He competes at a professional level and has been recognized by the official U.S. Racquetball Association. With this background in mind, Howitt has some prime tidbits for those wishing to become pro racquetball players.

His first piece of advice is to research your best path forward and this involves understanding your motivation. Some may simply wish to develop skills and gain a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. Others may wish to get handsomely paid for their efforts on the court. He advocates a business-like approach for those wishing to be well paid.

Dedication to a plan is another crucial component for those wishing to nurture great talent. This involves discipline and perseverance for skills to grow and take root. If at all possible, Howitt recommends working with a professional for the wisdom and insights that they can impart.

Finding an excellent coach is of paramount necessity and could be the difference between success and failure. Every professional athlete can look back to coaching as making a tremendous difference. Finding the right one could involve some effort but will be well worth it in the long run.

Doing the right workouts is also important as professional racquetball players have to be in remarkable shape. Strenuous workouts for stamina are a must and ample time spent developing core fitness is an absolute requirement.

Practice makes perfect is the old adage and Howitt relates that racquetball is no different. Extensive practice time is required to reach a high level of skill and stamina. Muscle memory takes time and repetition and is crucial to success on the court. Reading and coaching will always be important but are no substitute for copious amounts of time spent on the court making shots.

At a certain point, Sawyer Howitt recommends looking for a sponsor which can help one advance to a professional level. Great skills must be demonstrated to generate interest from sponsors.

Sawyer Howitt is not only an excellent racquetball player, he’s also an entrepreneur at heart. He currently serves as a project manager with Meriwether Group and is continuously developing skills in entrepreneurial finance.
